These supportive and engaging sessions focus on the joy of creating theatre through multiple-person puppetry. Our hands-on, collaborative approach creates an encouraging atmosphere that promotes creativity, teamwork, and strong mental well-being. All of our team are highly-experienced, DBS checked facilitators working at the top levels of the industry, with credits including: WarHorse (National Theatre), Doctor Who (BBC), Run Sister Run (Paines Plough/Soho Theatre) Kes (Leeds Playhouse) and many more. Students take part in a warm up and games before being guided through a range of solo and group activities. Using their newfound skills, they create short scenes to share at the end of the workshop. Each group will be given feedback and have the opportunity to apply any notes in a re-sharing. Our sessions are ideal for devising modules and can be tailored to fit with any curriculum. We include a post-workshop package with footage of the work your students create and offer a 'Working in the Industry' Q&A for A Level students and above.

What happens in your workshops?
Our workshops are available for KS2 to graduate level. We alter our approach for different age groups but our standards remain the same. Recent venues include: Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, UAL Wimbledon, The University of Winchester, Esher Sixth Form College, Peter Symonds College, Dumpton School, Dolphin School, and St Swithun's. The Paper People Workshop - this workshop teaches students how make and operate the 'paper people' puppets. Students experience each position on the puppet and devise performances to share with the rest of the room. This workshop is a three-person-per-puppet-workshop and can also include the 'Animate Assault Course' and 'Animate Dance Battle!' challenges (see below).
The Objects and Fabrics Workshop - this workshop focuses on using everyday objects and fabrics to create creatures and the worlds they live in. Students are guided through object manipulation in both solo and group exercises, culminating in a sharing for the work created at the end of the session.
The Table Top Puppets Workshop - participants create short stories with handkerchief puppets and share their work with the rest of the group! This workshop is a two-person-per-puppet-workshop and can also include the 'Animate Assault Course' and 'Animate Dance Battle!' challenges.

ANIMATE ASSAULT COURSE & DANCE BATTLE CHALLENGES!
Our Assault Course and Dance Battle challenges let groups practice in exciting scenarios!
Puppeteers and puppets team up to tackle our exciting ASSAULT COURSE challenge! Inspired by the legendary 'Tough Mudder' competition, teams test their new-found skills as they climb, crawl, and swing their way around the assault course obstacles! Available in our two of our three sessions, this is a highlight of our workshop offer.
Bust out your best moves, it's time to find out who is the best dancer in the room with THE ANIMATE DANCE BATTLE! Using their choice of music, teams create routines before facing off in the hotly contested battle royale! Expert judges are on hand to score on technique, creativity, and flair before crowning the ultimate winner!
