Stephen
Artistic Director/Founder
Stephen is an actor, puppeteer, and creature artist. He adores the playful, magical nature of puppetry and is excited to be sharing his enthusiasm for the craft through Animate.

Stephen's credits include; multiple Doctor Who episodes (BBC), Warhorse UK Tour (The National Theatre), A Ghost in Your Ear (Hampstead Theatre), Walk of the Dandelion (Luke Brown Company), The Crown & Behind Her Eyes (Netflix), The Peripheral (Amazon), The Great (Hulu), Gnomus (Puppets with Guts), Dracula & Princess and the Pea UK Tours (Proteus Theatre).

He is also a highly experienced facilitator, working with several theatre companies and education institutions across the South of England.

Daisy
Playwright/Dramaturg
Emma
Producer
Daisy is a playwright experienced in writing comedy and theatre for family audiences. She is one of the Minack Theatre Emerging Writers, and her 2025 play ‘The Gods Have a Song’ was commissioned for the Minack Theatre for their Young Performers Academy.
Her script ‘Mr. Toad’ (a puppetry respawn based on ‘The Wind In The Willows’) toured the UK in 2024 with Wise Owl Theatre to critical acclaim.
Daisy is an Associate Artist at the Royal Albert Hall and has had further works commissioned by Little Angel Theatre, Kew Gardens, and
London Transport Museum.
She is also a highly-experienced educational facilitator, with a particular specialism in maritime-
themed content for family audiences, designing and delivering exciting workshops at multiple high-profile venues in London.
As a performer, her puppetry credits include; Alice in Wonderland (UK Tour), The Singing Mermaid (Little Angel Theatre) Out of This World (Little Angel Theatre) and Benjamin Zephaniah’s This Orange Tree (filmed).
Daisy's pronouns are she/they.
Emma is a queer, disabled, neurodivergent producer working primarily in dance, with experience in theatre, performance art, and participatory projects. She has produced for Bryony Kimmings, Hunt & Darton, Stuart Waters, Morvell Dance, Vincent Dance Theatre, and many others.
She has an ongoing 7-year collaboration with Lost Dog Dance producing on all their projects during that time, and currently works with No Sleep Dance Theatre, whilst also supporting independent artists with fundraising, strategy and project/artistic development. Emma runs a peer support group for Southeast-based producers and sits on the Royal Opera
House’s Freelancers Working Group.
Her practice is rooted in accessibility, care and collaboration. Emma is driven by values of generosity, transparency, and compassion.

WORKSHOP TEAM


Lucas
Lucas is an actor, puppeteer, and musician who has worked across theatre and television. Lucas trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. His credits include; Warhorse (National Theatre), Kes (Leeds Playhouse), The Butterfly Lion (Chichester Festival Theatre), Run sister Run (Paines Plough/Sheffield Theatres), Masters of the Air (Apple TV), The Witcher: Blood Origin (Netflix), Casualty and Worzel Gummidge (BBC). Lucas facilitates for The National Theatre as part of the Warhorse Tour. His pronouns are he/him.


Ru
Ru is a queer, non-binary, multidisciplinary artist from the West Country and the founder of ‘Tailwind Physical Theatre’. Ru creates eclectic ensemble work using elaborate contemporary choreography, puppetry, dynamic sound scores, and text to create transcendent worlds that immerse audiences and are inspired by pressing environmental and socio-economic issues. Ru graduated from East15 Acting schools, BA Acting and Physical Theatre, is trained in Gecko Theatre technique. Ru's pronouns are they/them.


Mary
Mary Is an actor, vocalist, and puppeteer with over 15 years industry experience. Her credits include: Treasure Island (Haymarket Theatre), The Owl who Came for Christmas (The Curve, Leicester), Fools Gold (The Curve, Leicester), The Puppeteer (Martha Kent), Brimstone (Autin Dance Theatre). Mary is an Arts Council Funded theatre maker, lead facilitator for several theatres and arts organisations, and trained teacher. Mary's pronouns are she/her.
