This project tours a new puppetry workshop program for primary school children focused on wellbeing. Building on the success of our KS4+ workshop program (73 workshops since January 2024), this project extend our reach to younger children and brings high-quality creative experiences directly into 28 schools across 14 locations in Hampshire.

This project will take place between April to October 2026.

Thank you for the wonderful day you did with the Year 4 girls. The students at High March had an amazing time at the workshop, learning puppetry skills and teamwork through creative games and challenges. Huge thanks to the Animate team for such a fun and enriching experience. We can’t wait to have them back again” Sophie Leigh-Barcley, Head of Drama, High March School

These workshops offer a hands-on introduction to puppetry as a tool for expression and connection. Students will be shown how to make their own puppet, before exploring storytelling and characterisation. The sessions end with a sharing of the work the students create to the rest of the group and each participant will also receive a tote bag with a make-it-at-home puppetry kit!

These workshops aim to build confidence, develop imagination and communication skills, and support emotional wellbeing through playful, collaborative creativity at a crucial stage in a child's development. By allowing space to create and perform, we aim to nurture empathy, resilience, and joy, qualities that strengthen personal & social development.
