Funded by UK Gov_White-01_0.png

The 'Puppetry & Wellbeing project' tours a brand new workshop program specifically created for KS2 children that focuses on wellbeing. Building on the success of our KS4+ workshop programme (73 workshops hosted since January 2024), this project extends our reach to a younger audience and brings high-quality creative experiences directly into 30 schools across 15 locations in Hampshire. This project is taking place between April to October 2026 and will reach approximately 900 children.

Thank you for the wonderful day you did with the Year 4 girls. The students at High March had an amazing time at the workshop, learning puppetry skills and teamwork through creative games and challenges. Huge thanks to the Animate team for such a fun and enriching experience. We can’t wait to have them back again” Sophie Leigh-Barcley, Head of Drama, High March School

These workshops offer a hands-on introduction to puppetry as a tool for expression and connection. Students are taught how to make their own simple puppets, before exploring storytelling and characterisation by creating short scenes to share with the rest of the group. Each participant will also receive a free tote bag with a make-it-at-home puppetry kit!

This project will:

  • Nurture empathy & creativity

  • Build confidence & resilience

  • Spread joy & spark imagination

  • Develop communication (verbal and non-verbal) and collaboration skills

  • Support emotional wellbeing through playful creativity

  • Strengthen personal & social development.
